“ A big shout-out to Zainab (manager) and Karen, besides the other staff, are all courteous, very professional and have always greeted my wife and I as if we were close friends or family. We've also found the food to be consistently on point for flavor and quality! We hope the staff here at Bandera Rd and 1604 know that they're appreciated. ”
“ Came here for Father's Day lunch, looking to try their limited-time plate, the "1965!" I was not disappointed after seeing so many ads for it. They did forget my gumbo, which I didn't realize until I was half way thru battling all the rest of the food on this plate., but they quickly brought it to me in a to go container when I brought it to their attention. I wouldn't have been able to finish it anyway. Everything was fresh, hot, and tasty - even with a packed house! Always love coming here for consistently great meals, service, and value! ”
“ I’m new in San Antonio and a lot of my friends have recommended me to check this amazing place. I came in Tuesday afternoon and brought my kids with me. We had an amazing experience all the staff was so kind and friendly so attentive. I had an amazing shrimp gumbo with some spicy diablo fish and shrimp that came with rice and 2 more sides!!! It was great my kids had pasta and loved it. We are coming back again on Saturday with the whole family. Excited to try some more of their food and talk to some nice people like the cashiers and the staff that ran our food. They were all great 10/10 ”
“ Had a really good time when we visited Thursday. We went specifically for the 1965 special and the free kids entree on Thursdays. We did add on a piece of fish to the 1965 plate but we were very hungry and it was more than enough food to feed 2 adults. My son enjoyed his chicken strips even though one was really overcooked. The waiters and bussers are what made our visit really good. We were sitting outside and it was very hot, a busser came out and asked if we'd like to move inside because he just cleaned a booth and we said yes so he helped us move, it was very thoughtful. Then when our 1965 plate came the sides were wrong, I said something and the waiter immediately corrected it by bringing the correct sides without making us wait for a whole new plate. I very much appreciated that because it was lunch time and really busy so our food took longer than usual to come out. All in all this is a great location. ”
“ We tried the seafood platters fried fish w stuffed shrimp red potatoes w seasoned rice and lemon pepper fried fish which was lightly battered perfectly grilled shrimp w green beans and buttered spinach. They both came with hush puppies. The fish seasoning was yummy. The potatoes looked like Cajun potatoes but they were sweet. And the green beans had a tomato flavor which I didn’t expect. The kids got the shrimp pasta which they loved they finished the whole plate. And the chicken tenders w fries. Overall great food, quick service. ”
“ We had a graduation lunch, and they were able to accommodate us as we were a large group. Management and staff were super friendly, and the service was great! The food was delicious, and the plates were well served. Appetizers were also on point and really good. Can't wait to come back and have the delicious tea too. ”
“ Best fried shrimp, Cole slaw and hush puppies that I have had since coming to San Antonio! Food is always hot and fresh, served quickly. Outside dining is available. My only complaint was that the music was too loud at the outside dining area. ”
“ My boyfriend and I grew up in opposite sides of San Antonio and our families always took us to Sea Island, but we both have not been in years since church Sundays prior to me moving out. Today we decided to come back to Sea Island after a long time and tried this location that I have never been to before. The service was exceptional, the cashier greeted us with a warm smile and energy that made us feel welcome and excited to experience this nostalgic restaurant, he even convinced us to try the calamari which was the best! The food came out hot and tasted excellent, the food runner was kind, came back to ask us how we were doing and if we were enjoying everything! He might have been the manager I am not sure but still very hospitable with a warm smile! We left happily after we enjoyed the good food that has stayed consistent for many years, and joyfully talked about our experience at other Sea Islands from our childhood! Thank you to the staff for allowing us to enjoy a great Sunday meal with you all! ”
